Good Morning Vail Interview on Castle Peak Senior Life and Rehabilitation

What is Castle Peak and how is it going to make Eagle County whole? For many years, local residents had to leave Eagle County when they needed extended care or rehabilitation. In 2011, generous individuals, government officials and the respected non-profit eldercare provider Augustana Care joined together to create Castle Peak Senior Life and Rehabilitation.

Now under construction, Castle Peak will enable Eagle County’s older adults and others to stay in the towns and neighborhoods they love. You can learn more in this Good Morning Vail interview with volunteer Peter Feistmann and with Merv Lapin, who chaired the capital campaign committee.

About Castle Peak

The new life-enrichment community is expected to open in the fall of 2016, offering the following living options to make our community whole:
• 20 assisted living rental apartments
• 12 memory care private suites
• 10 short-term rehabilitation private suites
• 22 skilled nursing private rooms

Recently, Castle Peak’s Excellence in Care Fund was created due to a need to augment services for residents. About $100,000 remains to be raised to achieve the $350,000 goal for the fund, thanks to generous individuals, foundations and towns that have contributed thus far. Funds will not only help enhance resident services; they will enhance the building and surroundings as well. If you wish to make an additional contribution, purchase a paver or have questions about fundraising, please visit castlepeak.org or call 970-471-4864.

An estimated 110 people at all income levels will be served every year.
